Colorado College Summer Music Festival 2019
Illustrations by my Talented In Art Class
The Bird That Loved A Mountain
The Summer Music Festival at Colorado College is a world class festival comprised of talented musicians from all over the world. One very special event is their orchestration presentation inspired by a children’s book. The art is displayed while the book is being read and the orchestra plays music. It is delightful! Over 700 young students gather to hear and see the presentation. This year, due to COVID, the music and workshops will be conducted virtually. I lamented the lost opportunity for 2020 because we were ready to create the illustrations once again. To highlight the art my students created last year I wanted to post their work on my blog. We painted papers and then collaged them to create the art inspired by the book…
The Bird That Loved A Mountain
This is a wonderful opportunity for young creatives to use their artistic talent and be a part of something renown. I am pleased to be an instructor with the Talented In Art program, a partnership between the Bemis Art School at Colorado College and School District 11 and we look forward to next year when we can gather together in our classrooms once again. Thank you amazing art students for this work! We celebrate the arts and welcome the opportunity for young creatives to use their gifts and talents to express themselves and partner with Colorado College’s Summer Music Festival. See you in 2021…
